Chef Christopher Cedeno from Lizzmonade Brooklyn Pier 2

Chef Christopher Cedeño was born and raised in Queens, New York. At an early age Christopher was always in the kitchen, helping cook with his mother and grandmother. Coming from an Ecuadorian heritage, fresh and natural ingredients were always use for all meals throughout the day. When he turned 14 he started working in his family owned restaurant. Here, working closely with the chef (his mother), chef Cedeño began to understand the art of turning fresh ingredients into amazing creations. Being the son of a butcher as well, Christopher set out to look for more skills in his blossoming culinary career. His first stop was the then famous Le Cite, a steak house. Here he learned many of the skills that lead him to be a sous chef/chef de cuisine at NYC restaurants such as Rare Bar & Grill, Fig & Olive, and Sprig.

In July of 2013, Christopher was diagnosed with stage IV Urachal cancer. He is currently undergoing intense chemo in hope of achieving remission as soon as possible. Despite his diagnosis, Christopher continues to show dedication and passion to his craft. Christopher is currently working at Preserve 24, Locale Astoria, helping the executive chef in all aspects of the kitchen. Chef Cedeño is very excited and enthusiastic in joining the amazing Lizzmonade team and he is looking forward to adding some original menu items that will marry well with the amazing creations at Lizzmonade.
